The Roe Insider with Bozhena Ovsi: Don’t Compare, Just Create, Tips for Navigating the Influencer Journey

Amelia Hart

Hi Roe, my name is Bozhena Ovsi, and today we are getting ready together, hope you enjoy, so lets go.

How do you determine which brands align with your personal brand and values?

There’s no straightforward answer to this. I choose brands that align with my personal style, aesthetic, and creative vision. I only partner with those whose products I truly like and can incorporate into my daily routine. That’s what keeps things real and helps me stay authentic — both with myself and my audience.

What are some of the key factors you consider before signing a partnership deal?

I consider the same factors that I mentioned in my response to the first question. Additionally, apart from goals, values, and the aesthetic factor, I also value the brand’s experience and reputation, as well as the distribution of obligations. It’s also very important for me to know all the nuances related to the termination of the partnership.

What strategies have been most effective in growing and retaining your audience?

To grow and retain my audience, I use a few effective strategies. First, I keep my content high-quality, making sure it grabs attention and keeps followers engaged. Personalizing my content is important too. Collaborations with other brands help me reach new people, and mixing up content formats (like reels, stories, and posts) keeps things fresh and engaging for different groups of followers.

How do you stay authentic while working with brands and promoting sponsored content?

I remain true to myself by partnering only with brands whose products I support, and I make sure sponsored content blends naturally with my usual style. I’m always honest about my opinions and clearly label any sponsored content to maintain trust and transparency with my followers.

What advice would you give aspiring influencers and brands?

Please, just try new things, don’t be afraid to experiment. You’re in the process of figuring yourself out and finding your personal style, and it’s totally normal if, after a week, you’re not happy with the content you created just yesterday. Don’t compare yourself to creators with huge audiences, and don’t compare your content to theirs. Of course, it’s great to aim for something big, learn, and grow — but don’t blame yourself if things don’t work out. This is a common mistake for new content creators — being too hard on themselves. Just remember, don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s “end.”
